Welcome to my webpage. I am Associate Professor of Economics at the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business and director of the ΕΜΟΠ research center. I am also a Research Fellow at the Data Analytics for Macro and Finance research center at, King’s Business School, King’s College London and member of the Social Security Council of the Greek Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
Apart from academia, I serve as the Chief Science Officer of Dalia.
Previously, I held a visiting research position at the Department of Economics of Brown University, and tenured academic positions at the King’s Business School of King’s College London (Associate Professor of Economics) and at the Brunel University London (Lecturer).
My research interests are in the area of Macroeconomics. My research relates to topics of Economic Policy, Growth Theory, Development, Economic History, Dynamic Optimal Taxation, Debt Sustainability, Behavioural Economics, Demographics, Social Security and Environmental Economics. My recent work tries to explain the dynamics of income and wealth inequality and other socio-economic issues (climate change, social effects of AI, demographic changes and poverty) through behavioural/cultural changes that occur during different (past and contemporary) stages of economic development.
